Let’s be honest: the Tesla factory color palette is incredibly limited. If you spend any time driving around Los Angeles, you are surrounded by an endless sea of identical white, grey, and black vehicles. You bought a futuristic, high-performance EV—it shouldn’t look exactly like your neighbor’s daily commuter.
Upgrading to a custom vinyl wrap changes the game entirely by offering:
At PPF Pros in North Hollywood, we specialize in Custom Tesla Vinyl Wraps. We don’t just stretch film over panels—we meticulously handle your vehicle to completely transform its aesthetic in a matter of days.
Every Tesla build is unique. Whether you want a subtle two-tone accent or a complete, door-jamb-inclusive color change, we utilize top-tier films from 3M, Avery Dennison, and Inozetek to bring your vision to life.
Window trim, door handles, badges, and mirrors
Older Teslas with factory chrome, or adding aggressive blacked-out contrast.
Roof, pillars, or hood wrapped (typically in Gloss/Satin Black)
Creating a lower, sportier profile without the cost of a full vehicle wrap.
Every painted exterior panel wrapped in your choice of color
Owners who want a brand-new look while hiding the original exterior factory paint.
Full exterior plus the interior painted door jambs
The ultimate “paint-replacement” look. No factory paint is visible when opening doors.
The secret to a show-stopping wrap isn’t just the film—it’s the precision behind the installation. Because Teslas are engineered differently than traditional gas vehicles, they require a highly specialized touch to guarantee a flawless finish that lasts.
We don’t gamble with your factory clear coat. By utilizing advanced Knifeless Tape to trace every body line and seam, a physical razor blade never makes contact with your Tesla’s delicate exterior. It’s perfect, laser-straight execution with absolute peace of mind.
Don’t stop at just a new color. Upgrade your entire driving experience by bundling your color-change wrap with our premium styling options—saving you time, money, and multiple trips to different shops across Los Angeles.
Stop driving a generic commuter car. Let’s create an unmistakable LA masterpiece at PPF Pros.
Sedan full exterior vinyl wraps at PPF PROS start at $2,800 and include ONE free upgrade: Ceramic Coating OR Chrome Delete. SUVs, trucks and larger vehicles cost more. Your vehicle, film, finish, paint condition and scope determine the final quote, confirmed before booking.
Pricing increases if you opt for highly specialized finishes (like chrome or color-shift), or if you request a full door-jamb wrap to completely hide the original factory paint color.
A high-quality vinyl wrap installed in Southern California will typically last between 3 to 5 years, depending on how it is stored and maintained.
If your Tesla is garage-kept and routinely washed, the film will last much longer. However, if it sits outside baking in the intense Los Angeles sun every day without a protective ceramic coating, the lifespan of the vinyl on horizontal surfaces (like the hood and roof) may decrease.
No. In fact, a vinyl wrap acts as a sacrificial layer that actually protects your factory clear coat from UV rays, minor abrasions, and bird droppings.
As long as your Tesla has its original OEM factory paint (and hasn't had a cheap aftermarket respray), premium vinyl from 3M or Avery Dennison can be safely and cleanly removed years later without leaving adhesive residue or lifting the clear coat.
A standard full-exterior color change wrap typically takes our team 4 to 6 days to complete.
This timeline includes a meticulous multi-stage prep wash, safe disassembly of lights and trim, the actual wrapping process, and a strict post-installation curing and inspection phase to ensure all edges are securely locked down before the vehicle is returned to you.
No, you should never take a vinyl-wrapped vehicle through an automated drive-thru car wash.
The harsh spinning brushes and aggressive chemicals used in automatic washes will scratch the vinyl, dull the finish (especially on matte or satin wraps), and can physically catch and lift the edges of the film. We strongly recommend two-bucket hand washes or professional touchless detailing only.
Vinyl wrap is designed purely for customization and color changes, while PPF is a much thicker material designed to prevent rock chips and physical damage.
Vinyl is thin (around 3 to 4 mils) and will tear if hit by high-speed freeway rocks. PPF is highly durable (8+ mils thick) and self-healing. If you want a custom color and heavy-duty protection, ask us about Colored PPF, which combines the best of both worlds.
In California, you are technically required to notify the DMV if you permanently alter the color of your vehicle, but a vinyl wrap is classified as a temporary modification.
Because a wrap is fully removable and the factory paint remains intact underneath, most owners do not update their registration. However, it is always a good idea to notify your insurance company of the modification to ensure the wrap itself is covered in the event of an accident.
Yes, absolutely! Vinyl wrapping is one of the best modifications for a leased Tesla because it is 100% reversible.
You get to enjoy a custom, unique color for the duration of your lease terms. When it is time to return the vehicle to Tesla, our team can simply peel the wrap off, revealing the perfectly preserved, untouched factory paint underneath, saving you from potential lease-return penalties for paint wear and tear.
